What do students do in the WPHS Choir?
Make AWESOME music
Learn a wide variety of songs from a diverse choral repertoire ranging from broadway, to pop, to spiritual selections
Perform outside of WPHS in the community throughout DC and NOVA
Go on field trips, music department trips, and summer retreats
Strengthen music skills like reading music and sight reading
Serve as leaders within the choir
Participate in volunteering opportunities
Host social events & meet new people
SING and have FUN!!
WPHS Choir in the Community
Every year, the choir has many community outreach opportunities. Past events have included:
¨ Music Department Tag Day
¨ Holiday caroling at the Willard Hotel in DC
¨ Holiday caroling at nursing homes and hospice facilities
¨ Singing the national anthem at home football games
¨ WPHS graduation performances
¨ WPHS Pyramid Tour outreach
Choir Opportunities
Football Game National Anthem Singers & WestPo Carolers
National anthem singing and caroling are required for Harmonics & Bella Voce, but any student in Grace Notes or Loose Cannons is invited to audition for either activity. Rehearsals are mandatory and are every Wednesday from 6:45 pm - 7:45 pm. Contact Ms. Solares for more information.
